Lasers have been used for the removal of unwanted hair by physicians since 1998. Generally laser hair removal is 80% to 90% affective, meaning 90% of hair in the area will likely remain gone. Follow up maintenance treatments may be needed at 6 months to a year following the initial series of treatment to maintain hair removal.
